Electrical Engineer – Engineer/Scientist
Engineer/Scientist actively involved in signal processing, instrumentation, and software development to support R&D efforts. Instrumentation and sensor development, software development, circuit design, testing, validation, and experimentation, and conducting electromagnetic simulations. Additional non-destructive evaluation methods (such as eddy current testing) and responsible for supporting NDE activities, sensor development, directing, interpreting, and performing experimental work on materials/test objects.
Texas Research Institute (TRI) Austin is a small business with a 40 year history as a first class materials science applied research and development firm is seeking an Engineer/Scientist.
A successful candidate should be actively involved in developing ultrasonic inspections of metallic and composites components.
As a software developer at TRI Austin, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining small software packages for analyzing and managing large scientific and engineering datasets. Your primary original function will be to help make our internally developed engineering code base (MATLAB, Python, C++) more usable, maintainable, and deployable. Most developed software is and will remain Open Source. New projects are typically 1 to 3 years, and you will typically work on 5-6 diverse projects at a time.
Polymer Scientist ENV
Small business with a 40 year history as a first class materials testing firm seeks chemist with experience in hands-on laboratory testing of high performance polymer and composite materials such as resins, Geosynthetics, plastic pipe, and related materials. Candidate should have a proven track record of laboratory testing experience. The role of this position is to perform thermal analysis (TGA, DSC, TMA, IR), accelerated aging tests and chemical durability assessments. Candidate must be a self-starter, creative, and organized team player with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
