As a salute and thank you to the front line medical teams working to eradicate COVID-19, the United States Air Force Thunderbirds flew over the cities of Austin and San Antonio, Wednesday, May 13th, 2020.
With quiet awe, and proper social distancing, our teams were able to catch a magnificent display.
Amidst morning rain showers, and flight delays, the big Austin sky opened up to create a vivid and dramatic backdrop for the Thunderbirds to display America’s gratitude, honor, and power.
The day was powerful for us. Their flight path took them directly over our offices at Bee Caves Road. It was a chance to reset. To reflect. And to know we aren’t alone.
At the onset of the pandemic, several companies under the TRI umbrella were identified as businesses tasked by the President of the United States to aid in research, continued testing and support. We have not rested. We answered the call. TRI International is a global company, operating to bring innovation and solutions for IMPROVING OUR WORLD.
And for the Thunderbirds, Texas will always be DEEP IN THE HEART.
Their foundational origins reside in the Lone Star State, at what was Kelly Field in San Antonio, in the midst of WW1. The USAF introductory fighter courses are still held at Air Force bases in Texas to this day. Two pilots currently assigned to the Thunderbirds hail from Texas:
Maj. Trevor Aldridge, from Wichita Falls, TX
Lt. Col. (Dr.) Noel Colls, from El Paso, TX
and we are all very proud of them.
Our great state’s entrepreneurial and fighting spirit have created a Texas pride known the world over. TRI International’s mantra is “Improving Our World.” As they say at the University of Texas at Austin, what starts here, truly, changes the world.
Thank you to the United States Air Force Thunderbirds. As always, Aim high.
